DEALER SPOTLIGHT - MEET BONNIE!

Meet the beautiful face behind booth # 196, Bonnie Newman. And what a perfect time to introduce you to Bonnie: this week she's celebrating her 91st birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BONNIE!

Bonnie's booth specializes in vintage - style fabrics. Everything is always nicely pressed and folded, measured and marked for your convenience. You'll find vintage-style textiles of all kinds: trims, remnants, table cloths, lace, and more.

Check out some of the great items for sale that Bonnie sews herself with these beautiful vintage fabrics.

The wine bottle cloth sack is adorned with a vintage rope tie.

Bonnie makes these pocket pieces specifically for dormitory organization, but really these would be handy anywhere from your living room sofa to your bedroom.

Bonnie's booth # 196 is a great place to visit if you're looking for vintage fabrics or trims. Since these pieces move pretty fast, Bonnie's always stopping in to restock her area, so keep checking back for new patterns and pieces all the time.

And here's another reason to shop with Bonnie- the discounts! Booth # 196 is one of many booths we have here at Scranberry Coop that participates in a posted discount. You can go ahead and deduct 20% off of booth 196's items if you're paying with cash, and 15% off for check or credit card payment - unless the item is marked "Firm."

(Be sure to check at each individual booth for a posted sign with the discounts offered. These discounts vary from 10% to 50%, and do not apply to any items marked as "Firm." Dealers change the discounts they offer from time to time, so make sure you look for the sign on each booth, each time you visit. If you're ever not sure, or have any questions, please just check with our helpful staff up front at the registers.)

Thanks, Bonnie, for being our Spotlight Dealer for November 2008!

American Buffalo

We had an exciting day here at The Coop today!

A set designer for the smash hit Broadway play American Buffalo came in and did some shopping. They bought some great antiques to be used onstage, including that gorgeous old wooden rocking horse you’ve all had your eye on.

American Buffalo stars John Leguizamo, Haley Joel Osment of The Sixth Sense, and Cedric the Entertainer.

American Buffalo can be seen at the Belasco Theatre, 111 West 44th Street, Between Broadway and 6th Avenue, New York, NY.

This wasn’t our first experience with a set dresser. We’ve had quite a few designers come into the store in the past who’ve snapped up everything from bed linens, to pitcher and bowl bathroom sets, to kitchen canisters, furniture pieces, lawn ornaments and vintage hats. These items went on to be used in tons of commercials, plays, movies and print ads.

If you’re a set designer, come on in and check us out. Please introduce yourself to the folks at the registers, let us know what you’re buying props for, we’d love to link your movie or commercial here on the site!!

Meet Sharon, Booth#75

Hi, I’m booth #75 better known as Sharon.

Besides being a dealer here, I’m an artist and an Interior Decorator. For years I’ve been teaching my clients how to re-purpose items. By taking an antique hanging scale and filling it’s scuttle with fresh fruit or taking an old child’s shopping cart and filling it with onions, you can make unique signature pieces for your kitchen.

When you re-purpose a piece you put your personal “thumbprint” on it. A few pieces in each room will give you a notable home.
