How Does Your Garden Grow?

It's that time of year when we make our gardens grow. At Scranberry Coop we've got lots of ideas and inspirations for you and your green thumb.

Think about spreading your garden from the yard onto the porch with some plant stands and planter baskets. Consider Re-Purposing, Re-Cycling, Up-Cycling and Re-Using some older treasures in a new way for your potting and clippings. A vintage child's potty chair would make a great planter for ivy or Morning Glories to train up the back of the seat and over the arms. An antique washboard would be the perfect Honey Suckle lift. Old teapots and sugar bowls that are missing their lids would make wonderful (and inexpensive) posy vases for bringing your flowers throughout your home.

Consider finding inspiration in a print of an English garden or a pressing of flowers from years past. Arranging flowers and plants with your inspiration piece on a dry sink or night stand would make any room that much brighter and pulled-together. Floral patterned quilts and vintage linens would also add to the palette of color and inspiration.

Consider framing and displaying colorful photographs of your hard work paying off in your beautiful yard this year. Still photos of flowers in black and white bring an elegant and personal meaning when you've grown them yourself. Find antique and hand made frames to showcase your work.

Wrought iron wall sconces for small plants add a whimsical dimension to your kitchen or entranceway. Old flower pots and watering cans can make even the most urban apartment feel a little bit country.

Birds, butterflies, and porcelain flowers will add all kinds of warmth and personalization to your windowsills and arrangements.

Maybe now is the time to think about some truly classic vases, urns and amphoras. Roseville, cut crystal, Lenox, Belleek, McCoy, hand thrown stoneware and carefully crafted Weller - it's all here.
Pick up some extra glass vases and Re-purposed mason jars and vintage bottles for giving away bouquets as gifts to neighbors and friends. Share your Hydrangeas and Roses. Let your gardening put a smile on the faces of others.

Even if you don't have a garden to grow outside, you can always grow one inside, out of your mind's eye. Plant some seedlings in teacups for your windowsill. Consider an herb garden in your kitchen this summer. The scent alone will be worth it. Add a sprig to floral arrangements all over the house. Buy fresh flowers and enjoy them in different ways throughout your apartment.

However your garden grows, it will grow even better once you've shopped at The Coop. Come check us out, there's something for everyone. Find your treasures at Scranberry Coop!
