SPOTLIGHT DEALER: E. Joanne Zarger

Meet E. Joanne Zarger, truly one of Scranberry Coop's gems.

Joanne brings a lifetime of experience and expertise to our shop. Her mother was an antiques dealer and Joanne has been actively following in her footsteps since she was just 2 years old!

In addition to her four booths here at Scranberry Coop, Joanne does an occasional flea market or outside event. She used to have her own shop, but tells us that it's just so much more convenient and less expensive to rent booths here, and not have to worry about insurance and taxes and water and snow plowing and everything else. Joanne has similar feelings regarding Ebay: it's just easier to sell her treasures here.

Joanne's first booth contains many awesome samples of one of her favorite collectibles: Bottles! Known as the Milk Bottle Queen, this bottle lady has the best assortment you'll ever find.
My favorite piece in this booth today is a huge old whiskey barrel, priced firm at $90, with Old Grand Dad Whiskey on the lid.

The second of Joanne's booths that I toured today featured this amazing late 1800's bureau with swing mirror. You just never see these beauties with the original mirror still in tact like this. 2 beautiful tables and other classic antiques were a plenty here.

A secretary desk located in Joanne's 3rd booth would be a beautiful Mother's Day Gift. An amazing mirror with candle holders mounted on the sides would be just incredible over a server in your dining room. And check out those cute little scotty dogs!

Richard gives Joanne a helping hand with repairs, and he helps her move some of the heavier pieces. As we visited Joanne's fourth booth Richard told me that Joanne's house is like a museum. She has found a wealth of pottery, jugs, crocks and bottles. It's amazing that in just one booth you can find vintage Elvis dolls and beautiful authentic primitives. Thread, spools, milk glass, an antique trunk, and a 150 year old dresser with all original hardware are offered here.

In addition to 4 incredible booths packed with the treasures of a lifetime, Joanne has a case with some truly special finds. Lladros, Slag glass covered figural dishes, authentic Elvis Presley bubblegum cards, black Americana, Hummels, a Flatsy doll, vintage McDonalds drinking glasses, Fenton Family Club Pieces, vintage drink stirrers, and an array of political campaign buttons are just SOME of the fantastic finds located in this cabinet.

Joanne has spent her entire life in the antique business. She has the best of the best wares for sale here at the Coop, where you can benefit from all her expertise, time, and effort. If you're looking for something special, have a question about something you spot in one of these pics, or if you'd like to inquire about bottles, please feel free to contact Joanne through us here at scranberrycoop@gmail.com - we will make sure she gets your message.

Thanks Joanne!
