A Coop Refresher

Here's a quick refresher post in the ways of Scranberry Coop.

We're open Wednesdays through Sundays. We're closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Our hours are posted on the sidebar here on the site along with special events like Flea Markets and After Hours Shopping Parties.

If we're closed for inclement weather it will be posted here as well as our Facebook page. On sidebar you'll find our address, phone number, hours, and other info.

Regular Hours, address and phone number are also including on our About page on Facebook.

We have Page Tabs at the top of the posts here on the site. They include: The Home Page with current posts, Rent a Booth with info on joining our family of dealers, Frequently Asked questions and answers, Shop By Phone with info on asking for items to be bought over the phone or held or shipped, and lastly a page about our weekly Free Friday Facebook Giveaway.

When you come in the front door to the Coop, right in front of you there's a section of glass topped jewelry display cases.

Underneath them there's lots of glass cubicals. These spaces are for you to store your finds while you shop, so you don't have to carry them all around with you. They're already marked "Sold" so you don't have to worry about anyone bothering your treasures while you take your time and explore.

Just to the right of that, there's our cashiers. We often refer to this little area as The Jail. This is where you can check out when you're done. You can also find someone here if you need help or have questions.

Also, there's a small snackbar there too. Yup, it's fine if you want to walk around and shop with a snack.

Ahead and to the left we have a Men's Room and a Ladies Room. Not many antique stores offer you that accomodation. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy your trip to Scranberry Coop.

The parking lot is big. You can find a nice safe spot without having to worry about parellel parking, traffic, snow, etc. If you have to get a wheelchair out of your car, or, a nice big treasure you just bought into your car, you'll see just how great our big private parking lot is.

You don't have to drive and park and drive and park etc to visit all your fav antique dealers. Here at Scranberry Coop, we have a 10,000 square foot building with 150+ dealer spaces, all under one roof. Each dealer offers you their own individual wares and sets their own prices.

This gives you the customer a lot of choices and convenience. With so many unique dealers, you'll find we're not kidding when we say there's something for everyone at The Coop. We have dealers that specialize in jewelry, bottles, tools, steampunk, furniture, classic antiques, vintage retro, art, photography, musical instruments, dinnerware, sports memorabilia, pottery, toys, collectibles, clothing, accessories, and more.

You'll notice just about each booth has a small white and blue Treasure Map Location Number. This is just a sequential numbering system to help you narrow down the area where you saw something so you can find it again. Booth numbers also helps us when you call to buy something over the phone, so we can locate it for you. It's a 10,000 square foot building; booth numbers help!

You'll also notice most booths have a discount posted. Most of dealers are usually running some kind of sale. It will commonly be something like: 20% off for cash sales, and 15% off for credit card or check purchases, on all items not marked "Firm." The sales vary from booth to booth and month to month. Keep an eye out for them.

Feel free to bring your dog with you when you come to the Coop.

All responsible dog owners are welcome to bring their pooches.

Please keep them on leash, enjoy our big parking lot, let us know if you need anything, clean up your own messes, and we're all good. We love dogs!

As you shop, please note the area around Treasure Map Location #112 - #116 "Rescue Row." Scranberry Coop has donated that section of the store to help some local animal rescues and shelters raise much needed funds for their causes. Items you buy from those booths raise money for those charities to help feed and care for the animals.

On our sidebar you'll find a list of links for the charities we are proud to be able to support.

We invite these organizations to do fund raisers, awareness events, and adoption days here at our store. You'll see them here sometimes.

Also in the parking lot you'll see a large yellow Planet Aid donation bin. If you have any clothes you can donate to others that need them, please bring them with you when you come to the Coop and deposit them in this bin.

At Scranberry Coop we're concerned about our planet. We are a single location, family owned, small business that cares about animals and people in our community.

We're all about going green. We promote the Re-Use, Re-Cycle, Re-Purpose philosophy every day. There's tons of great items inside our walls that were crafted with skill and integrity, made to last; the kinds of things you can choose to buy instead of purchasing mass-produced poorer-quality pieces that are often more expensive anyway.

Please feel free to post photos right to our Facebook Wall with your shopping finds, your decorating ideas, your recipes, your rescued dogs, your local business, a charity you're supporting, or a vintage photo that's just too awesome not to share.

We really do miss being able to go to your Facebook walls and finding these things to share. (We were made to convert our FB page to a Business page, which has limited access.) Hopefully you'll keep up the momentum and share things with us yourself. Feel free to share our photos, leave comments, send us messages or emails, and share.

As long as it's positive, we're happy to share it on our wall with our community. (Please keep it G rated, friendly, and positive. :) Critical, negative, mean, or political posts will be deleted. You understand.)

We do lots of gift giving on Facebook! Please keep an eye out for our Free Friday Facebook Giveaways! We do it every week!

If you have any questions about The Coop, just ask! Check us out. We're always having fun. You'll see, it's a nice place to be! Come find your treasure at Scranberry Coop!

(*Just for fun, most of the photos in this post are a blast from the past from one of our After Hours Christmas Shopping Parties several years ago.)
