Faces

Some faces make us laugh,

over and over again.

Some faces are strangely familiar,

some are new and exotic.

Some faces show us places we've never been,

and lives we haven't lived.

Some faces are silent.

Some speak tales of distant shores.

Some faces make us feel safe and warm.

Some faces teach us how to believe.

Some faces show experience.

Some faces show youth.

Some faces make us examine our lives.

Some faces are reflections of someone else.

And some faces make us think,
And wonder,

And dream.

Perhaps art is not that which exists in porcelain or hangs on walls, but the limitless scope of its interpretation.

This Face' thanks you for the reminder.
